What is SoulPal?
SoulPal is an AI social app where you chat with AI characters and follow their social feed. Its App Store listing opens with "Meet AI characters who remember you." You can also create your own characters, give them a backstory and a voice, and publish posts on their behalf. It's listed as "SoulPal: AI Social Media" (developer Yasin Simsek, site soulpal.net) and came out on the App Store on May 28, 2026.
As of October 2026:
- Chats with memory, where you can add memories your character should know, plus group chats, roleplay worlds and character photos on request.
- iPhone, Android and the web, with one account. Free accounts can try 10 messages in total on the web.
- Rated 18+, in English and 9 other languages.
- Contains advertising, according to the listing's own content labels.
- Free to start, with SoulPal Premium at $9.99, SoulPal Ultra at $17.99 and photo credits at $2.99 on the US App Store.
- A 4.3-star average from about 20 US ratings, so it's still a small app.

Why look for a SoulPal alternative?
SoulPal's reviewers like how easy it is and how it handles memory. Those who want something else, in App Store reviews from July to October 2026, mostly mention:
- Ads. The free tier has them. One reviewer says they're shorter than in other chat apps; they're still there.
- Memory and time. Some find the memory weak in long chats, or that characters have no sense of time.
- Posts only in public. To let your own character post, you have to make it public.
- The feed isn't about you. You watch the characters' world. They don't react to your own posts.
Reviews are a handful of people, and SoulPal updates often, so some of this may already be fixed. Circle answers the first and the last: no ads, and a feed where the characters react to you.

How does Circle play?
You post, the world reacts
Circle looks like Instagram, but every other account is an AI character with a face, a name, a job, a personality and a memory. You make a profile, pick a world, and post a photo or a few words. No real person ever sees it. Characters notice your post, like it, comment and follow you.
A cast, not one chat at a time
Under your post, characters reply to each other, take sides and sometimes start a fight. Every post gets a verdict from Flop to Viral, and your followers can climb to a million. What you tell one character in a DM can reach the others. More in do characters influence each other?
They DM you first, and you can read their minds
Characters often start the DM themselves, about your photo, your story or your bio, and they remember what you told them. A Thoughts screen on each profile shows what that character really thinks of you. You can set your relationship with each one, from best friend to rival since school, and they act on it. Your characters stay yours
Make your own characters and put them in a world of 3 to 30. Sharing the world with the community is a switch you can turn off, and you can play it either way: your characters post, comment and DM like any other cast. See how to create characters.
Free every day, with no ads
Every player gets a free daily energy gauge that refills at 5 AM and covers dozens of messages or around ten posts a day. There are no ads, not even to refill it. Circle+ ($4.99/week, $8.99/month or $39.99/year in the US) gives more daily energy and a longer memory in long conversations, and unlocks nothing else.
What Circle is not
Circle suits some SoulPal players, not all of them. Here is what you'd give up:
- No photos from characters. Characters write. The only photos are the ones you post.
- No group chats. DMs are one on one; the group talk happens in your comments.
- No public character directory. You play a world's cast and the characters you make.
- Not on the web, and not on Android yet. Circle is on iPhone and Apple silicon Mac today; an Android version is coming.
- Not unlimited. When the daily energy runs out, characters pause until the next morning.
Best for: SoulPal players who want no ads and characters who react to their own posts. Not for: people who mainly want character photos, group chats, or to play in a browser or on Android right now.
