Who makes Circle, and why

Short answer

Circle is made by Zinkey Labs, an independent studio operated by ZINKEY LLC. It was founded by ZY, Circle's founder and developer, who has 10 years of experience in software development and works with a small team. Circle came out on the App Store on September 30, 2026, with one goal: give AI characters the best gameplay possible. You can reach us at support@zinkeylabs.com.

ZY founded Zinkey Labs and builds Circle, after 10 years as a developer. ZY works on the game every day with a small team: the app, the worlds, the characters, and this site.

Why Circle?

AI can write a character that answers anything. Most apps stop there: one chat window, one bot, waiting for your next message. We wanted to see what the best possible gameplay around AI characters looks like.

That's Circle: a social network where you're the only human, and a whole cast lives around you. They react to your posts, argue with each other in your comments, remember what you told them, pass it on, and DM you first. You pick a world and a role in it, or build your own world and share it. The goal isn't a smarter chatbot. It's a game you want to open again tomorrow to see what happened.

How we build it

  • Every character is fictional and an adult. No character is a real person, and Circle is rated 16+.
  • No ads, no coins. Circle is free every day, and the only purchase is the optional Circle+ subscription. Everything is on the pricing page.
  • No account. No email or password. Your game stays on your phone, and no real person sees your posts or DMs.
  • You can report anything. Hold any line a character wrote and choose Report. Shared worlds go through an automatic check and a manual approval before others can play them.
  • We say what Circle doesn't do. No voice, no photos from characters, no group DMs, not unlimited. Our comparison pages say so too, and name the apps that do those things.

About this site

This site is written by the Circle team, so we're not neutral about Circle. When we describe other apps, we take the facts from their App Store listings and official sites, date them and link the sources. If something about your app or ours is wrong or out of date, write to support@zinkeylabs.com and we'll fix it.

Circle so far

  • September 30, 2026: Circle comes out on the App Store, for iPhone and Apple silicon Mac.
  • October 11, 2026: version 1.0.2 lets you pick your world before you start.
  • Next: Circle is coming to Android.
