Privacy Policy — Chut
Last updated: July 23, 2026
ZINKEY LLC ("Zinkey Labs", "we", "us") operates the mobile application Chut ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Apple App Store and Google Play requirements.
Data controller
The data controller is ZINKEY LLC, publisher of the App. For any privacy-related request, contact us at privacy@zinkeylabs.com.
Data we collect
The App does not require you to create an account with your name or email. However, to function and to improve the service, the App and the third-party tools embedded in it process the following data:
| Data | Purpose | Provider |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous user identifier, listening history, progress and downloads | Operate the service, sync your library and playback progress | Supabase |
| Usage events (screens viewed, taps), app version, device model and operating system | Product analytics and improvement | PostHog |
| Crash logs, device and OS information | Diagnose crashes and improve stability | Firebase Crashlytics (Google) |
| Advertising identifier (IDFA / GAID), installation source and device identifiers | Marketing attribution (measuring which campaign led to an install) | AppsFlyer |
| Subscription and purchase status (anonymized) | Manage your subscription and unlock premium features | RevenueCat |
| Push notification token | Send reminders and notifications (if you allow them) | Expo / Apple / Google |
During onboarding, the App may ask you questions about your sleep habits and goals. Your answers are used to personalize your experience and are processed as usage data. They are not linked to your civil identity.
Advertising tracking and consent
On iOS, before any use of the advertising identifier (IDFA) for attribution, the App displays Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt and only tracks you if you agree. You can change this choice at any time in your device settings (Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking). If you decline, the App still works; only marketing attribution is affected.
Legal basis
- Performance of the service — data strictly necessary to make the App work (Supabase, subscription management).
- Legitimate interest — analytics and crash reporting to improve the App, limited to what is proportionate.
- Consent — advertising tracking (IDFA) and push notifications, which you can grant or refuse.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with the service providers listed above, acting as processors on our behalf, and with Apple or Google for payment processing when you subscribe. Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union; in that case, appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) apply.
Data retention
Data is kept only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or until you request its deletion. Analytics and crash data are retained for a limited period defined with each provider.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, delete, restrict, and object to the processing of your data, as well as the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, or to request deletion of the data associated with your device, contact privacy@zinkeylabs.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL).
Children
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under this age.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated within the App where appropriate.
